NO_OP_ for iOS · Effective 9 August 2026

NO_OP_ collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no network code of any kind. It runs entirely on your device and works in airplane mode forever. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to.

Who this is from

NO_OP_ is made by Matt Mills, an individual developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the NO_OP_ iOS application (the "App") handles information. It covers the App only.

Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information about you. Specifically, the App does not collect:

The App requests no system permissions. It does not ask to track you across apps or websites, because it has no capability to do so.

Information stored on your device

So that the App can resume where you left it, it saves a small amount of data in its own private storage on your device:

This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to us, not synced to any server, and not readable by us or by any third party. It is stored in the App's sandboxed container, which iOS isolates from other apps. Deleting the App deletes all of it permanently.

Network activity

The App makes no network requests. There is no server component, no API, and no remote configuration. The daily board is generated on your device from the calendar date using arithmetic that produces the same board on every device — no server hands it out and no request is made to obtain it.

Third parties

The App contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no attribution or measurement SDKs, and no social media SDKs. No third party receives any information about you through the App.

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple independently collects information relating to downloads, purchases, and App Store activity under Apple's Privacy Policy. That collection is Apple's, not ours, and we receive only anonymous, aggregated sales and download statistics from Apple that cannot identify you.

Sharing a daily result

Finishing a daily board can produce a plain-text summary of the board you left behind. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it. If you do, it is handed to the standard iOS share sheet and goes wherever you send it — that destination's own privacy policy then applies. We never see it.

Children

The App is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect no personal information at all, we cannot knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from a child.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to opt out of its sale. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, delete, or port, and nothing that could be sold or shared. The device-side data described above is entirely under your control and is removed by deleting the App.

Changes to this policy

If the App ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Any version of the App you already have installed continues to behave the way it did when you installed it.
